Donald Trump Debuts New Joe Biden Impression, Says He Ignores Teleprompter 80% of the Time

President Donald Trump can't get Joe Biden out of his head.

Just days after making comments about his presidential predecessor in an interview with The New York Times, Trump, 79, did an impression of Biden, 83, while speaking at the Detroit Economic Club in Michigan on Tuesday, Jan 13.

"You know, when you go up here, you take a big chance," said Trump midway through his speech. "Especially me because I go off teleprompter about 80% of the time. But isn't it nice to have a president that can go off teleprompter, don't you think?"

After being met with cheering and laughter from the crowd, Trump said, "Remember the speeches Joe [Biden] would make? First of all, they'd last a matter of seconds, you know."

He pretended to be Biden, who stuttered in childhood, before saying in a thick, raspy tone, "Thank you very much."

"You ever noticed Joe would always cough before a speech?" Trump said as he began to cough while adding, "State of the Union, he goes 'ladies and gentlemen.' "

According to Trump, Biden's speeches would then be "very short."

"Although the one time they had him spruced up pretty good," said Trump. "Remember he was high as a kite? He was floating. He was up there way up. He didn't. That was a bad speech. But uh, hey, he got through it, you know. He got through it. If you call it getting through it."

During his recent interview with The New York Times, Trump reportedly brought up Biden’s name “repeatedly” throughout the interview.

“I think Joe Biden is the worst thing that ever happened to old people,” said the president about Biden.

Trump has made changes to the Presidential Walk of Fame on the White House Colonnade that include various digs at Biden. Instead of using a picture of Biden among the portraits of past presidents, Trump installed a photo of a piece of paper being signed. “Autopen” is written underneath, along with the years of Biden’s presidential term.

The pen image has been framed in place of a Biden portrait since the Presidential Walk of Fame was installed in September.

His description, which accuses Biden of “the highest Inflation ever recorded," also claims that "Sleepy Joe Biden was, by far, the worst President in American History. Taking office as a result of the most corrupt Election ever seen in the United States, Biden oversaw a series of unprecedented disasters that brought our Nation to the brink of destruction."

A second plaque also reads in part that "Biden was dominated by his Radical Left handlers. They and their allies in the Fake News Media attempted to cover up his severe mental decline, and his unprecedented use of the Autopen."
