Josh Allen Breaks Down in Tears After Game Loss, Apologizes to Buffalo Bills Teammates
Josh Allen had an emotional reaction to the conclusion of the Buffalo Bills' 2025-2026 NFL season, and he issued an apology to his teammates after their loss.
After the Bills' season ended to the Denver Broncos in the AFC Divisional Round on Saturday, Jan. 17, the quarterback, 29, broke down in tears during a post-game press conference.
“It’s extremely difficult,” Allen — whose wife, Hailee Steinfeld, is currently pregnant and expecting the couple's first baby — said.
“I feel like I let my teammates down tonight," the athlete continued through tears.
When asked by a reporter why he had such a strong and emotional reaction, Allen explained that there were "missed opportunities throughout the game," adding, "It's been a long season. I hate how it ended, and that's gonna stick with me for a long time."
Broncos kicker Will Lutz ended the Jan. 17 game with a win for his team through a 24-yard field goal in overtime.
The top-seeded Denver team will now face either the New England Patriots or the Houston Texans in the AFC championship game on Jan. 25. (The team will be decided following the Patriots and Texans game on Sunday, Jan. 18.)
Elsewhere during his post-game conference, Allen was asked what he said to other members of the Buffalo Bills after their loss.
"I haven't been doing a lot of talking," the athlete admitted. "I love my teammates, and I'm extremely sorry, and I'm extremely disappointed in how this ended."
The 2025-2026 NFL season will conclude through Super Bowl LX at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Feb. 8.
