Prince Harry Makes Surprise Appearance in King Charles’ New Documentary

King Charles' new documentary features both of his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

The monarch's new nature-focused film, Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision, highlights his love of nature and passion for conservation, and in doing so, highlights a few personal moments from the King's past.

The brief clip of Harry, now 41, shows the future Duke of Sussex fly fishing with his father as a young boy

King Charles, 77, was particularly fond of fishing and exploring in and around the River Dee, which flows past Balmoral Castle in Scotland, where the royal family spends their summers — a tradition that dates all the way back to the reign of Queen Victoria.

When his sons were younger, then-Prince Charles was frequently photographed with them on the Balmoral grounds in the summer, often joined by some of their beloved family dogs.

Prince William, now 43, makes two appearances in Finding Harmony: one as a boy, lying in the grass with his father, and another in his 20s, tending to some cows at the royal family's Home Farm, near Highgrove House in Gloucestershire.

Despite reports of a rift, including the monarch not answering his younger son's calls and messages, King Charles and Prince Harry have seen each other on a few occasions in recent years.

The Duke of Sussex flew from his home in California to his home country in February 2024, days after his father revealed he was being treated for cancer.

Then, in July 2025, aides for Prince Harry and one of the King's key staffers met for the first time, seen as an olive branch that could pave the way for better relations.

“It was a good first step,” an insider told PEOPLE at the time. “It is always better to be talking.”

In September 2025, the father and son had their first in-person meeting in 18 months, seemingly a step forward in repairing their relationship, though the encounter was brief. Reps for both Harry and the King said that the pair met for tea at Clarence House, relating afterwards that no other details would be shared.

The "harmony" in the documentary title refers to the King's philosophy of unity between humans and nature to create a balance that can sustain the Earth for years to come.

His King's Foundation website states, "The Harmony philosophy sees everything in nature as interconnected, including ourselves. This means taking a holistic approach to the challenges facing our planet, and looking to solve these challenges by working with nature, rather than against her."

A press release for the documentary — which is narrated by Kate Winslet — explains that the film "aims to showcase the importance of Harmony to a new audience, and highlight the urgent action needed to help protect our planet, as His Majesty reflects on his life’s work across nature, sustainability and the environment."

The King and his crew filmed at The King’s Foundation headquarters, Dumfries House, in Ayrshire, Scotland, and at Highgrove Gardens in Gloucestershire, as well as locations around the globe, highlighting Harmony projects on four continents.
