Elon Musk Asked Jeffrey Epstein About Visiting His Infamous Island, Emails Reveal
Elon Musk communicated with Jeffrey Epstein about visiting the sex trafficker’s Caribbean island on more than one occasion, emails included in the latest batch of files released in relation to the investigation of Epstein show.
Those messages, and other new documents pertaining to the Epstein files, were released by the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Friday, Jan. 30.
In one November 2012 email exchange between Musk, 54, and Epstein, the tech mogul was asked how many people he would be bringing on the helicopter to the island.
“Probably just Talulah and me,” Musk replied, referring to actress Talulah Riley, his partner at the time.
“What day/night will be the wildest party on your island?” Musk then questioned.
In another email exchange from December 2013, Musk wrote, per the released files, “Will be in the BVU/St Bart's area over the holidays. Is there a good time to visit?”
Epstein responded: “Any day 1st - 8th . play it by ear if you want. always space for you."

It is unclear if the discussed visits ever occurred. Musk has previously denied ever visiting Epstein’s island.
Additional email exchanges from 2012 show Epstein asking Musk if SolarCity, a company the Tesla founder had close ties to and eventually acquired in 2016, could provide power to either his island or his New Mexico ranch.
The recently released documents show that Musk wrote that he followed up with his contact at SolarCity to inquire about the request.

Musk addressed the emails featured in the DOJ release in a post on X on Saturday, Jan. 31, calling them “a distraction.” The emails do not indicate any wrongdoing by Musk.
“What matters is not release [sic] of some subset of the Epstein files, but rather the prosecution of those who committed heinous crimes with Epstein,” he wrote.
Musk added, “When there is at least one arrest, some justice will have been done. If not, this is all performative. Nothing but a distraction.”

In another post, Musk said, “I have never been to any Epstein parties ever and have many times call for the prosecution of those who have committed crimes with Epstein.”
Representatives for Musk did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on Saturday, Jan. 31
Back in 2016, in an email to Vanity Fair, Musk claimed that he had never been to Epstein’s island, despite repeated invitations. He also told the outlet that Epstein was “obviously a creep.”
“Several years ago, I was at [Epstein’s] house in Manhattan for about 30 minutes in the middle of the afternoon with Talulah, as she was curious about meeting this strange person for a novel she was writing. We did not see anything inappropriate at all, apart from weird art. He tried repeatedly to get me to visit his island. I declined,” Musk added.
Musk also refuted a claim that he had introduced Epstein to Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg, stating, “I don’t recall introducing Epstein to anyone."
He further wrote to the publication that he didn't "know the guy well enough” to do so.
Epstein was arrested in July 2019 and charged with sex trafficking of minors. One month later, he died in an apparent suicide while awaiting trial at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City.
