Sarah Ferguson Congratulates Jeffrey Epstein on ‘Baby Boy’ in Newly Released Documents

A newly released email correspondence between Sarah Ferguson and Jeffrey Epstein appears to show the former Duchess of York congratulating the convicted sex offender for having a "baby boy."

Within a new batch of documents made public by the U.S. Department of Justice, Ferguson, 66, claimed in 2011 to have just learned that the disgraced financier had a son.

Though the sender’s contact has been redacted, one of the messages is signed “Sarah” and mentions “The Duke,” while another mentions “Andrew.”

She and the former prince Andrew were married from 1986 until 1996, and share two daughters: Princess Beatrice, 37, and Princess Eugenie, 35.

"Don't know if you are still on this bbm [BlackBerry Messenger] but heard from The Duke that you have had a baby boy," the first email read, per the BBC. It is dated Sept. 21, 2011.

"Even though you never kept in touch, I still am here with love, friendship and congratualtions [sic] on your baby boy. Sarah xx,” it added.

Just eight minutes later, the redacted sender followed up with a second email.

"You have disappeared," the email allegedly read. "I did not even know you were having a baby. It was sooooo crystal clear to me that you were only friends with me to get to Andrew. And that really hurt me deeeply. More than you will know."

A representative for Ferguson had no comment when PEOPLE reached out about these latest emails.

Epstein's brother, Mark Epstein, told Business Insider that Epstein did not have any kids, adding, "If Jeff had a kid, I think I would have known."

However, the emails about Epstein possibly having a son were not the only correspondence between the two.

In one message dated Jan. 30, 2010, Ferguson wrote, "You are a legend. I really don't have the words to describe, my love, gratitude for your generosity and kindness."

Ferguson continued, "Xx I am at your service . Just marry me."

Another email from that year saw Epstein ask her about a possible upcoming trip to New York. Ferguson replied, “Not sure yet. Just waiting for Eugenie to come back from a shagging weekend!!”

Eugenie was 19 years old at the time.

The emails were all sent after Epstein’s 2008 conviction on charges of procuring a child for prostitution and of soliciting a prostitute.

Epstein was arrested in July 2019 on accusations that he sexually abused girls as young as 14 years old, and died by suicide one month later while awaiting trial on federal conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.

His survivors recently released a joint statement calling the disclosure incomplete, stating that their names and details were publicly revealed while abusers were able to be redacted. They are calling for the full release of Epstein-related files and accountability for those involved.

Andrew was stripped of his royal titles last fall amid scrutiny over his relationship with Epstein. Ferguson also lost multiple patronage roles after it was reported that she'd sent an email to Epstein apologizing for publicly disowning him in a March 2011 interview with the Evening Standard.
